Things Are Being Shaken

I've read Matthew Casey's The Return: An end-time epistle to the Church in America a couple of times.  His book is a great wake up call for the church in America.  He is calling the Church to get serious about seeking God because things are about to happen.  Overall, the book is a call to God's people to return to God.  I suppose a good way to sum things up is repent, return, revival.

The following are my notes from reading Chapter 1 of Matthew's book.

From chapter 1 of Matthew Casey's The Return

Now is time of shaking as pointed out in Hebrews 12:26-27:

At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”  The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken —that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

While things may seem uncomfortable it is actually a good thing.  Are you sure? Yes. Since 2007-08 economy has been in trouble from real estate foreclosures to auto bailouts to unemployment.  4 years later there still is no real sign of recovery.  Why good?  Because the temporal things are being shaken and only the eternal shall remain.  In the first chapter, Matthew lays out three major points for the Church:

1. God only disciplines a nation when he still has plans for it

2. Shaking is good for the Church.  We have done things the worlds way. Now is time to do things God's way.

3. Shaking can only remove what is shakable.

The overall lesson from the opening chapter of Matthew's book is do not despise the shaking because God is going to make make things happen.  Chapter 2 is about "Missing: The Presence of God."
