Judge Michael Nettles Rules

In South Carolina, a woman pleaded guilty to drunk driving after crashing her car and seriously injuring two men.  Her blood alcohol content was four times above the legal limit.  Judge Michael Nettles, a circuit judge in Rock Hill S.C., ordered the woman to spend 8 years in jail, 5 years of probation, and attend substance abuse counseling.  The woman, who recently started attending church, agreed to an extra condition to the sentence - read the book of Job and write a summary of the book. The sentenced woman indicated that she was grateful for the reading assignment and has begun work.  See Judge Sentences Drunk Driver to Bible Study.

Predictably, commentators on a certain political site are not happy: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/07/05/511153/south-carolina-judge-sentences-drunk-driver-to-bible-study/?mobile=nc
