The Feast of Tabernacles and the Second Blood Moon

This evening is time to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.   But now is not only the time to celebrate.  It is time to watch because tomorrow morning we will see the Second Blood Moon.

What has happened since the First?   We have seen wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in diverse places, pestilences.

If you don’t believe me, check the most recent headlines.  Consider this: ISIS/ISIL, Gaza, Russia and the Ukraine, Volcanoes, Sinkholes, Ebola and other viruses. Still don't believe me.  Check out the video below.

Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord does come.  Matt. 24:42.

So you must also be ready, because the Son of Man will come, at an hour when you do not expect Him. Matt. 24:44

The Blood Moons are Here

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;
-          Luke 21:25

The Blood Moons are here, but there is no reason to panic.....kind of, sort of....  For a while there has been quite a bit of talk about the Blood Moons.  For some, this phenomenon has been discussed for years.  Others have discussed it for months.  Still, others are just discovering this concept for the first time.   Make no mistake about it, beginning tonight the Blood Moons are here and despite the opinions of the skeptics, they should not be dismissed.

The Blood Moons are about lunar eclipses.  They are referred to as “Blood Moons” because during the eclipse the moon looks red.  A lunar eclipse really is not a big deal, but the upcoming Blood Moons have generated attention because of another term called “Tetrad.”  Regarding eclipses or Blood Moons, tetrad is significant because it points to 4 consecutive full lunar eclipses, as opposed to a mix between full lunar eclipses and partial lunar eclipses.

Several years back, Pastor Mark Biltz noticed that there was a pattern between with these Blood Moon Tetrads and the Jewish calendar.  First, he noted that on a small handful of occasions these Tetrads coincided with Jewish Holidays or Jewish Feast Days.   He then noted that when these Tetrads or Blood Moons landed on Jewish Feast Days, something significant happened with the children of Abraham.
For example, in 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain.  This is not common knowledge unless you are a European historian.  Many Jews died fleeing from Spain.  Of course, we recognize 1492 as the year in which Columbus, in search of India, landed in America.   Given this discovery, many Jews fleeing Ferdinand and Isabella made America their home.  The tetrad of this period occurred during the Jewish Feasts in 1493 and 1494.

In 1948, for the first time since 70 AD, the Jews regained their home in Israel.  The Arabs were not happy and war ensued.  Israel’s political leaders from the 1960s and 1970s were young men who fought the Arabs in this war.  Little Israel, defeated the Arabs.  The Blood Moons or Tetrads were visible during the Feast Days in 1949 and 1950.

Twenty years later, the Arabs are agitated.  Syria is using Jordan as a passage to launch attacks into Israel.  Although these Arab nations do not like each other, Egypt, Jordan and Syria agree to go to war against Israel.  In the Six Day War of 1968, Israel defeated their Arab invaders and among other things gain Jerusalem.    The tetrads coinciding with the Six Day War were visible on Passover and Tabernacles of 1968 and 1969.  That was the last time we had a Tetrad that coincided with the Feast Days until now.

Beginning tomorrow (or tonight) we will witness the beginning of the eighth Tetrad - April 15, 2014.  As our Jewish friends begin celebrating Passover, a lunar eclipse will occur at in the middle of the night.  Most of us on the east coast will be sleeping at that time.  This will be the first of the four Blood Moons for 2014-2015.   In the fall, on the Feast Day of Sukkot or the Feast of Tabernacles, the second Blood Moon will be visible.  This occurs on October 8, 2014.  Then, this pattern will repeat itself again on Passover and Tabernacles of 2015 - April 4 and September 28, respectively.  Some may dismiss these Tetrads, but it is worth considering that in the last 2000 years, there has only been 7 of these Tetrads on Jewish Feast Days.

We do not know what this all means, but given the history, something big will occur over the next couple of years.  Some may mock at Christians given the talk of the Blood Moons,  but we should consider that the Blood Moons should not be considered an event.  In other words, do not expect something to happen on April 15, then when nothing happens, say see I told you so.  Instead, the Blood Moons should be a marker for the season.  While, April 15 may come and go without anything of significance occurring, we need to watch out for major events over the next couple of years.  Indeed, some may argue that these events have already started.

I began by noting that we should not panic.  Despite all of the above, I am still holding to the view that there is no need to panic.  I will try not to panic because Jesus predicted this and told his disciples, "see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass."  See Matthew 24:6.

Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord does come.
